I’ve always been interested in what shapes us as people, our relationships, our experiences, the ways we adapt, and what helps us find our way back to ourselves when life feels difficult.
Over time, that curiosity grew into a vocation, leading me to train as a counsellor. Today, I’m a fully qualified counsellor registered with the NCPS, offering counselling to adults and young people aged 15 and over, online and in Cheltenham and Hereford.
Like many counsellors, I’ve also experienced times in my own life when I needed support. Those experiences, alongside my professional training, have shaped who I am and continue to influence the way I work. They taught me the value of feeling deeply listened to, accepted and understood, and I know how powerful it can be to have someone alongside you as you make sense of life’s more difficult moments.
I genuinely love what I do. Every person I meet reminds me that no two lives are the same, and I never take for granted the trust people place in me. It is a privilege to be invited into another person’s inner world and to walk alongside them as they begin to understand themselves with greater compassion.
Outside of counselling, I value making time for stillness, reflection and the practices that help me stay grounded. They help me bring my whole self to both my personal life and my work, and remind me that growth isn’t about becoming someone different, but about reconnecting with who we already are.
HOW I WORK
No two people experience life in exactly the same way, so I don’t believe there can be a single right way to do therapy. Every person brings their own story, relationships, strengths and ways of coping. Rather than following a fixed agenda, I work collaboratively with you, allowing our sessions to unfold at a pace that feels right and around what feels most important in the moment.
My approach is rooted in person-centred and relational therapy, while gently drawing on psychodynamic thinking, ACT and CBT where these can support our work together. Rather than fitting you into a particular model, I draw on these approaches in ways that feel meaningful and responsive to your individual needs.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe that when we experience being genuinely listened to, accepted and understood, something begins to shift. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore whatever is happening for you, without fear of judgement or pressure to be anything other than yourself.
There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to say. You are free to bring whatever feels important, and there is never any pressure to talk about something before you’re ready. As trust develops, many people find themselves able to speak about thoughts, feelings or experiences they’ve never shared before.
I don’t believe we need to be fixed. We all develop ways of adapting to life’s experiences, and while those ways may once have helped us cope, they can sometimes leave us feeling stuck. Together, we’ll gently explore those patterns with curiosity and compassion, making sense of how they developed and how they may still be influencing your life today. Some clients experience this work as deeply transformative, noticing significant shifts in how they feel, relate to others, and move through the world. For others, the changes are more subtle at first, but they often create meaningful ripple effects, unlocking areas of life they hadn’t realised were holding them back.
My role isn’t to provide answers or tell you who you should be. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you as you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, reconnect with your own inner resources, and discover what feels right for you.
